Accreditation Notices and Visitation Reports

Scope and content: Includes filled-in reports for elementary, junior high, and secondary schools. Information requested in reports includes school's identifying information, building information (construction, equipment, etc.); school library; laboratories; other specific subjects at school and their capabilities such as for vocational/career education, home economics, and physical education; how often audited; if the local Board minutes are kept; space for comments by the supervisor filling out the forms, such as regarding the school's strengths and weaknesses, etc. Forms vary somewhat depending on the school type in question, but the essential information remains the same. Series also includes memoranda stating the school has been approved for accreditation, though the State Department of Education might have suggestions or concerns that need to be addressed for future accreditation. Last box in series includes reports for non-public and diocesan schools.
