Scope and content: Two microfilmed County Commissioners journals dated 1861-1877 and 1877-1883. The journals contain minutes and entries documenting the activities and decisions of the Board of County Commissioners for Dickinson County. Topics discussed include tax assessment and collection, election canvassing for county officers and related results, the issuance of bonds to raise funds for various bridges and the court house, lists of bills allowed to be paid to individuals out of county treasury funds, and purchasing stock in companies such as the Topeka, Salina, and Western Rail Road.
