Administrative History
Administrative History: The People's, or Populist, Party had its founding in 1890 in the Kansas Farmers' Alliance. That same year the party ousted many of the Republicans controlling the Kansas Legislature and even elected a man to the United States Senate. Soon after its creation, the party began aligning itself with the Democrats, working on a single campaign ticket together in 1896.
