Biographical sketch: A.M. and Jennie Tilton Garrison were married in 1889 in Waverly, Coffey County, Kansas; before her marriage, Jennie Tilton was a teacher at the Waverly School, and A.M. Garrison continued after their marriage to be a merchant and storekeeper. The family moved to Pomona, Franklin County and later lived in Joplin, Missouri; they also had connections with Louisburg and Garnett, Kansas.
Abstract: Two scrapbooks and one photograph album from the Garrison family. The photograph album includes family portraits and images of locations around Kansas and elsewhere in the country; the scrapbooks include cards, invitations, and announcements, such as of marriages and deaths; ribbons and other souvenirs from various events; newspaper clippings; concert and other types of programs; and other such materials documenting the lives of the Garrisons' friends and families as well as their professional and civic interests, such as merchant associations and helping the war effort during World War One.
