Grinter Place - Quilt Show

2012 quiltThe 36th annual Grinter Place Quilt Show explores "Oh, My Stars." Activities include:

  • Local quilts on display in the visitor center and house
  • Donation may be made toward the "Star" opportunity quilt, hand quilted by the Grinter Place Quilters, drawing will be in December
  • Quilters table, featuring craft items magazines, orphan blocks, fat quarters, fabric yardage, and American Girl 18" doll clothing
  • Admission is free courtesy of the Grinter Place Quilters

Sit-down tea served in the house available for $2 per person. on display throughout the Grinter Place State Historic Site, 1420 South 78th Street, at the intersection of 78th Street and K-32 in Kansas City. For more information call 913-299-0373.

Visitors can also see and make a donation for a chance on this year's opportunity quilt (shown at right). This piece, hand-quilted by the Grinter Place Quilters, will be given away to one lucky visitor. Proceeds from the opportunity quilt go directly to support the Grinter Place Friends, a 501(c)(3) organization that provides support for Grinter Place State Historic Site.
