Wow! That Oughta Be In a Museum!A Passion SharedLarry Kipp began growing orchids when he was in the eighth grade.
Today his collection includes about 250 plants from all over the world. Thirty of these are endangered, and he is dedicated to their protection and propagation. One rewarding result of collecting is the fellowship that springs up among collectors at shows, through clubs, and in chance encounters. The World Wide Web also has brought orchid collectors closer together. Larry and other collectors trade seeds and plants and share information more rapidly than ever before. As chairman of the conservation committee of the Orchid Society of Greater Kansas City, Larry is committed to the preservation of native Kansas orchids. He is working to reintroduce the Kansas bottom-land prairie orchid on his property near Lawrence.
