Richard Meyers

General Meyers graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School in 1960 and from Kansas State University with a B.S. in mechanical engineering in 1965. He then graduated from Auburn with an MBA in 1977. Meyers entered the Air Force in 1965 through the Reserve Officers Training Corps program. He was a pilot and rose steadily through the ranks. He was Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the highest uniformed position in the armed forces, from 2001 to 2005.
