George Brett

George Brett was born May 15, 1953, in Glen Dale, West Virginia. Brett was drafted into the Major League and played his entire 21-year career with the Kansas City Royals. After his debut August 2, 1973, Brett went on to become a 13 time All-Star, and a member of the 1985 World Series championship team. Brett also won the Golden Glove Award in 1985, was a three time winner of the Silver Slugger Award, won the Lou Gehrig Memorial Award in 1986, and the Hutch Award in 1980. In 1993 Brett played his last game with the Royals. He was inducted into the Kansas City Royals Hall of Fame in 1994 and the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1999. He was named the Native Sons and Daughters' Distinguished Kansan in 2001.

After retirement Brett went into business with his brothers. Brett married his wife in 1992 and together they have three children.
