Johnson County Heritage Trust Fund Grant
The Johnson County Heritage Trust Fund generously provided grants to the Kansas Historical Society, which included field trip subsidies to schools. These subsidies covered the cost to visit Shawnee Indian Mission State Historic Site in Fairway.
Because of those subsidies, 512 students from Johnson County were able to take tours of Shawnee Indian Mission. The schools that participated in this grant were Crestview Elementary, Rhein Benninghoven Elementary, Whittier Elementary, Bluejacket-Flint Elementary, Learning By Design Charter School, and Derrick Thomas Academy.
