Kansas Day 2010

Thanks to all who celebrated our state's 149th birthday with us!

Governor Mark Parkinson welcomed visitors to Kansas Day at the Museum!  Visitors celebrated the 149th birthday of Kansas and the 150th anniversary of the Pony Express.

Nascar driver Jennifer Jo Cobb talked about how working towards a goal can help you succeed.  Storyteller JoHo shared tales from the pioneer trails with Kansas Day visitors.

Visitors enjoyed demonstrations of historic crafts and skills.  Some visitors even got to try their hand at making something by hand.

Experts in Kansas history shared their knowledge.

Activities tied to the Kansas academic standards held the interest of visitors.
