Nancy E. Holt lives in Belleville where she is a community volunteer and retired medical office manager. She attended the University of Colorado at Boulder and Denver, and Wichita State University.
She has served as president of the Republic County Historical Society since 1992. She has been a member of the Republic County Historical Society's museum building committee, served on the Belleville Main Street Program, and as a supervisor on the City of Belleville election board.
She has served on numerous committees for the Kansas Historical Foundation including chair of the executive committee, Edgar Langsdorf Award committee, Nyle Miller Organization Award committee, membership, and nominating committees. She was a frequent Kansas History Day judge.
Her husband, Robert, is a family physician. Holt was first elected to the Kansas Historical Foundation Board of Directors in 1986. She was elected to the executive committee where she served from 1995 to 2003, and as chair from 1999 to 2002. She has also served on the personnel committee for many years.
