Nomination Deadlines
Nominations of Kansas properties to the National Register of Historic Places and/or the Register of Historic Kansas Places may be submitted for review by the National Register staff at the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) at any time throughout the year.
Due dates for nomination submission are set to provide the lead time necessary to allow time for staff to review and comment on the draft nomination, as well as time for the preparer to make any necessary revisions. Once approved by staff, the complete final draft of the nomination must go to the members of the Review Board in time for them to review it prior to their quarterly meeting.
Preparers are advised to consult with SHPO staff well before the deadline regarding the status of their nominations. Please note that submission by the due date does not guarantee that a nomination will be reviewed by the Review Board at its upcoming meeting.
Deadlines for February 18, 2012 Review Board Meeting
December 5, 2011: Complete nomination due; properties selected for board consideration
December 20, 2011: Nominations & requests for comment sent to CLGs (60 days)
January 4, 2012: Notice of meeting sent to property owners (45 days)
Deadlines for May 12, 2012 Review Board Meeting
February 27, 2012: Complete nomination due; properties selected for board consideration
March 13, 2012: Nominations & requests for comment sent to CLGs (60 days)
March 28, 2012: Notice of meeting sent to property owners (45 days)
Deadlines for August 11, 2012 Review Board Meeting
May 29, 2012: Complete nomination due; properties selected for board consideration
June 12, 2012: Nominations & requests for comment sent to CLGs (60 days)
June 27, 2012: Notice of meeting sent to property owners (45 days)

August 28, 2012: Complete nomination due; properties selected for board consideration
