Popular Collections - Quilts

Quilts are appreciated for their warmth and beauty, but also because they are valuable historical records. Kansas has a strong quilting heritage that continues to the present day.  The Society preserves over 200 quilts and their stories in its collections.  In many cases we know the maker because the quilt was passed down in a family.  Most of our quilts fall between 1850 and 1940, although the earliest dates from the late 1700s and the newest is quite recent.
