The Kansas Historical Society assists cultural resources across the state through various financial incentive programs. The following grant-assisted properties and projects are seeking proposals, bids, or qualifications from contractors and consultants. Please address all inquiries to the project contact listed.
Stafford - Contractor Services
The Stafford County Historical & Genealogical Society has a Heritage Trust Fund grant award for general exterior repairs to the historic Farmers National Bank building. Planned repairs include roofing, gutting and downspouts, windows and storms, soffits and rooftop balusters, and interior plaster. Sealed bids will be received by the Stafford County Museum until 6 p.m. on May 20, 2013. Argonia - Contractor Services
The Argonia and Western Sumner County Historical Society has received a Heritage Trust Fund grant to repair the Susanna Salter House. They are seeking bids for roofing, guttering, masonry repairs, foundation work, window repair, and painting. Bids will be accepted at P.O. Box 126 Argonia, Kansas 67004 until 5 p.m. Friday June, 7, 2013. All inquiries about this Invitation to Bid and requests for copies of the full scope of work may be directed to Mary Beth Bookless 620-435 6171 or book67004@yahoo.com. Bids will be received on a total bid price basis and shall include a sum to cover the cost of all items of the contract, including insurance, materials, and performance bonds. An optional pre-bid meeting will be held at the Susanna Salter House at 220 W Garfield, Argonia, KS on May 29, 2013 at 10 a.m.
St. Francis - Contractor Services
The City of St. Francis has received a Heritage Trust Fund grant to repair the St. Francis City Park Band Shell located at 300 East Washington Street, St. Francis, Kansas. The work consists of the demolition of existing deteriorated concrete and concrete stucco; repointing brick; some electrical work, steel window restoration, roof repair work, and reapplication of stucco to match the building's historic appearance. Bids will be received in the Architect’s office of Campbell & Johnson, Engineers PA, 113 West 7th St., Concordia, KS, until 2 p.m. Tuesday June 18, 2013, and then publicly opened and read aloud.
