State Archives - Tours
If your class or group is interested in in Kansas history research, you will want to schedule a visit to the State Archives in Topeka. You will find a wealth of information on Kansas history and the West among our collections.
There is no charge for using the research facility, but please contact the reference staff in advance if you are planning to bring a group to do research so we can make any special arrangements that are needed. Research visits can be scheduled during public hours. Please let us know the group size, arrival time, and research topic. We want to make sure we are prepared to provide the best service possible.
For first time visits, we offer a brief orientation upon your arrival. We can focus the orientation to a particular topic, such as History Day or family history projects. Staff members can also provide an orientation to online resources, including Kansas Memory.
To schedule a tour, please contact us by email or phone 785-272-8681, ext. 117.
