Visitor center

Begin your tour in the visitor center, located behind the White home. Exhibits tell the story of the White family and William Allen White's legacy as an editor and the Sage of Emporia. Browse a selection of Kansas gifts and books in the store while waiting for your tour to begin. Explore the grounds and garden, where a lily pond has been recreated similar to one the Whites enjoyed when they lived in the house.

Red Rocks

The house is furnished with many items that belonged to the White family, including books, art, and items the Whites collected during their world travels. See the bed where presidents and famous dignitaries, such as Theodore Roosevelt, slept. Browse photos of White with Albert Einstein, Theodore Roosevelt, and Herbert Hoover.
