  • Soldier, buffalo hunter, and entertainer
  • Served as army scout in campaigns against the Kiowa and Comanche
  • Earned name Buffalo Bill for supplying buffalo meat to railroaders
  • Organized wild west shows; entertained audiences with roping, bronc riding, and buffalos
