The State Archives & Library offers a spacious research room conveniently located near I-70 in west Topeka. We are a non-lending research facility with one-of-a-kind documents, photographs, and manuscripts. Here you will find a wealth of information on Kansas history and the West and genealogy resources on Kansas families.

The State Archives & Library offers tours for school and other groups with prior notice. Admission to the research room is free. Find more information about hours, when you arrive for your visit, researcher policies, lockers, copies, and other details related to your visit.

The snack area at the museum, which is connected to the State Archives & Library, features vending machines with snacks and soft drinks.

Tables and chairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Parking is free and located near the museum building along the walkway to the State Archives & Library.
