James Reynolds

Born in 1950 in Oskaloosa, James Reynolds joined the Marine Corps as a young man and served in Vietnam. After his tour of duty, Reynolds enrolled in pre-law and journalism at Washburn University in Topeka where he was active in theater. He also served as a contributing writer for the Topeka Daily Capital. Reyhold's acting talents led him to daytime television, playing the role of Abe Carver on Days of Our Lives. In 1991 he was nominated for a Daytime Emmy. A regular on the show from 1981 to 2003, he returned in 2004 where he continues in the role making him the longest running African American actor on a television series.
