Annie and Moses Grinter

(1820-1905) and (1809-1878)

  • Married about 1838 in Indian Territory (Kansas)
  • She was Lenapi (Delaware) and they lived on Wyandot-Delaware Reservation land she received from government
  • Operated trading post, ferry on the Kansas River, and first post office
  • Began building house in 1857, now State Historic Site
