County Histories

The compiled county histories listed below are arranged alphabetically by the name of the county. There are currently in the state of Kansas 105 counties. Counties that no longer are in existence would be listed under the successor county in which they became a part. Some of the items contained in these individual bibliographies are available on microfilm (designated by "reel" number) and can be obtained through interlibrary loan request from us. All other materials would require either a visit to the research room of the Kansas State Historical Society or requesting limited research and photocopying services through our reference services.
