Welcome to the Kansas State Historical Society's portion of ATLAS (Associated Topeka Libraries Automated System).

PLEASE NOTE that the holdings of the Historical Society's State Archives and Library Division are still being added and only a small percentage are currently available online. KSHS collects historical research materials relating to Kansas, the Great Plains, and the West in general. We also have a significant number of Kansas and general genealogical resources. Our holdings include:

KSHS materials cataloged before 1994 are indexed by our library, map, manuscript, and photograph card catalogs. To take full advantage of our holdings, please visit the reading room or contact our reference staff. We are happy to answer questions about our collections and services. You can call 785-272-8681, ext. 117, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday, or email the reference staff. TTY users please contact the reference desk at 785-272-8683.

Materials cataloged by the historical society since 1994 are also listed in the Kansas Library Catalog, a union catalog showing the holdings of most Kansas libraries, and in the international library catalog WorldCat.
