"Kansas
Remembers" Project
"Kansas Remembers" Documents Life in Kansas
Following September 11
No doubt about it, September 11, 2001 introduced a time of great
historical importance. To help document the lives of ordinary Kansans
during these extraordinary times, the Kansas State Historical Society
conducted the "Kansas Remembers" Project. Citizens of the state
were encouraged to document activities in their community and share
their thoughts, feelings, and reactions about the events of September
11, 2001 and subsequent events. The materials received became a
part of our permanent collections and preserved for future generations.
