German immigrant Ferdinand Teske homesteaded the land in 1869 and resided there until his death in 1913. The 1870s farmhouse and springhouse are the oldest remaining buildings on the property. The current barn replaced an earlier one that was destroyed by a tornado in 1907. The farm is nominated for its agricultural and architectural history. The Dennis Quarry
