June 3-6, 2009

Join preservation experts, historic property owners and community leaders at the 2009 Kansas Preservation Conference in Topeka. The conference will be held in the historic Capital Building, with many sessions taking place in the recently restored House of Representatives Chamber, and other sessions held in Committee Rooms. Saturday sessions will be held off-site.

In this new political and economic era, the conference will explore Preservation in Times of Change. Whether you’re interested in learning new techniques for historic plaster and window repair, finding ways to fund your preservation project, or participating in discussions on improving preservation, the conference will inspire you.

Featured speakers include Sarah Susanka, bestselling author of The Not-So-Big House, preservation architect Richard Wagner, and hands-on preservation guru Bob Yapp.

This schedule is subject to change. Please be sure to pick up a final conference schedule at the registration table! Conference registration and all conference sessions, unless specified in the final conference brochure, will be located in the Kansas Statehouse at 300 SW 10th St in Topeka.

You can register for the conference online, paying with a credit card, by clicking the below link. To register by mail, paying with a check, click on the below link, print and fill out page 3, and mail it in to to attached address. Online and Mail-in registration closes May 28th, 2009. After that, you may register in-person during the conference at the Statehouse, first floor of the North Wing.

Registration location for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday are located at the Kansas Statehouse. Saturday only registration is at session locations.
