Read
Kansas! is a curriculum
of student reading cards and teacher lesson plans for primary, intermediate,
middle, and high school grades. Each lesson addresses a Kansas history
standard as well as a state reading and/or writing standard. The lessons
contain from one to 15 reading cards and a teacher lesson plan.

Reading: Benchmark 4: Indicator 2: The student understands the purpose of text features (e.g., title, pictures/illustrations, etc.) and uses such features to locate information in and to gain meaning from appropriate-level texts. Reading: Benchmark 4: Indicator 4: The student generates and responds logically to literal, inferential, and critical thinking questions before, during, and after reading the text. |
Writing: Benchmark 1: Indicator 3: The student writes about one idea using pictures, letters, and words. |
