Contents: Discusses reticence of a group of about 40 chiefless Ioways who are being advised by 1 or 2 white men to hold out for more money for their land. Mentions "Mr." Hughes. Dougherty accuses these white men of dickering for a share of the profits of the sale . Dougherty advocates, if there is an increase in the price, that it be in the form of presents (already in storage) at the time the treaty is signed.
