Contents: States that the unsettled Otoe & Missouri Indians, in the process of moving their town, have erected 5-6 earthen houses. Thus they begin to show some permanency. Now is a good time to erect the mill to which they are entitled by treaty. Daugherty thinks the mill should be finished by fall.

Contents: States that "White Plume", a Kansas chief has reported that a war party of his people are on their way against the Pawnees, & have been joined by a small band of Otoes. The band has stolen horses & mules. White Plume was unable to get his people to return the property. Asks Clark's advice in dealing with the thieves. Also reports some isolated difficulties between Indians & whites, causing deaths in some cases.

Contents: Tells of a group of 5 whites who had stolen 8 horses belonging to a party of Potawotomies, and then ambushed them killing one and wounding one; the Indians returned fire, killing two whites. They offered themselves up to Col. Kearney. Daugherty states he believes the Indian's story and mentions that the 5 whites were of questionable morals. He also mentions white unrest with all Indians in Missouri.
