Summary: This item was written by J.N.N. Schooler in order to legally declare that William D. Blackford of Washington D.C. was going to serve as his attorney. Schooler, who lost property in a raid by Cheyenne and Sioux braves, selected Blackford to help "collect and secure payments" from the United States Government "for certain property destroyed by the Cheyenne Indians on the 16th day of June 1867, amounting to four thousand five hundred and Seventy two dollars ($4512)."
