Summary: This set of approximately 18 blueprints includes 3 maps, and detailed profiles, documenting the harbor lines along the Kansas River (or Kaw River) in Kansas City, Kansas, and Kansas City, Missouri. It shows bridges, viaducts, and railroad lines in the Central Industrial District in Kansas City, Kansas, and the West Bottoms, in Kansas City, Missouri. Sheet number one has details of two areas: the first area shows the intersection of 3rd Street and Central Avenue, including the Central Avenue Bridge, the Metropolitan Street Railway elevated tracks and electric plant, the Union Pacific and Missouri Pacific Railroad tracks, roundabout and cypress yards, and the Kansas City Southern Railway Bridge; the second area shows the Missouri Pacific Railroad depot, The James Street Bridge, the Old Water Works, and the intersection of the Kansas City Wyandotte & Northwestern Railway, Chicago, Great Western Railway, and Kansas City Terminal Railway tracks. Sheet number two shows the Kansas River from the Kansas Avenue Bridge on the south, to the Central Avenue Bridge on the north. This area includes the Chicago, Rock Island & Pacifc Bridge, two Kansas City Southern Railway bridges, and the Union Pacific and Missouri Pacific Railroad bridges. It shows the locations of the Kansas City Stockyards Stable & Livestock Exchange on the east side of the river, and the U.S. Quarantine Stockyards on the west. Sheet number three is a detail of the area near the intersection of Genessee and 19th Streets, showing rearrangement of the tracks at the south end of the stockyards, where the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad follows the river levee, and the Frisco tracks cross it.
