This portrait is of two girls wearing white dresses with white bows in their hair. It is from the collection of Mabel Boyles, who was from Rossville, Kansas. They are possibly also pictured in Unit ID 99709. This photograph is provided through a pilot project to host unique cultural heritage materials from local libraries on Kansas Memory and was accomplished by mutual agreement between the Northeast Kansas Library System, the Rossville Community Library, and the Kansas Historical Society.

George Anson Carroll

This black and white photograph shows George Anson Carroll (1897-1975). The son of George Francis Carroll and Carrie Mae Williamson. He was born October 14, 1897 near Garden City, Kansas. As a young man, Carroll attended Kansas State University and served during World War I in the U.S. Army. For most of his adult life, Carroll worked as a electrician for the Deal Cement Company in Superior, Nebraska. He married Martha Rose King on April 14, 1929 in Superior, Nebraska. On December 14, 1975, Carrol passed away at the age of 78 in Superior, Nebraska.
