Karl Menninger, M.D. receiving the Distinguished Service Award

The American Psychiatric Association presented Dr. Karl with their Distinguished Service Award at the 1965 meeting. Dr. Karl is known in many circles as a founding father of psychiatry; he produced 15 books that influenced psychiatry over the years.


Frank Carlson, United States senator

A photograph of Frank Carlson, Kansas United States Senator, wearing a 33rd degree Scottish Rite prayer hat. Carlson belonged to the St. John Lodge at Concordia(Ancient Order of Free and Accepted Masons)and became a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Salina on Nov. 18, 1937. He was honored with Knight Commander Court of Honour 32nd Degree on Oct. 21, 1947 and raised to 33rd Degree Oct. 19, 1953.
