This formal portrait shows Edward Ferdinand Arn,1906-1998, a lawyer and World War II veteran, Arn begins his career in politics when he is elected on the Republican ticket as Attorney General of Kansas from 1947 to 1949. In 1950, he is appointed justice of the Kansas State Supreme Court, 1949-1950. That same year in the November general election Arn is elected the thirty-second Governor of Kansas. He servers two terms from 1951 to 1955. During his administration several government agencies are established including the Kansas Turnpike Authority, the State Grain Commission, and the Kansas Veteran's Commission.

This is a portrait of Franklin G. Adams who was the Secretary of the Kansas State Historical Society, Topeka, Kansas. Adams was a member of the Leavenworth Constitutional Convention. He served as an election judge for the second vote on the Lecompton Constitution. Earlier he was a Clerk of the U. S. District Court of Kansas. In 1875, he became the first secretary of the Kansas State Historical Society.
