Physical Description: Red and green appliqué quilt with white ground. Unknown block pattern features a large 8-lobed red rosette with seven radiating green leaves. Each rosette has a thick green stem with a red bud on a side shoot. The quilt top has nine rosette blocks separated by wide red sashing. Borders are appliquéd with large green vines and red buds. Red fabric is plain, and green has small tan print. Non-original red binding. White cotton backing. Quilted in grid on blocks, and diagonal on sashing and borders. Hand-stitched, appliquéd and quilted except for new binding which is machine-stitched.

History of Object: According to the donor?s notes in the accession file, this quilt was made and used by Maria Kramer of Evansville, Indiana. Kramer was the donor?s great-grandmother.
