Physical Description: Oval brass and nickel plated belt buckle, slightly arched. Cowboy on bucking horse in relief in gold at left, cowboy on bucking bull in relief in gold at right. Stippled silver background. Gold shield at center. Gold rope design around perimeter. Filigree and printing in relief in gold on front. Buckle back is nickel plated, with printing in relief. C-shaped pivoting metal piece at bottom center. Protruding pin to fit in belt holes at top.

History of Object: Cast brass belt buckle commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Pretty Prairie Night Rodeo. The plated buckle features images of cowboys and horses. The town of Pretty Prairie, Kansas has sponsored a night rodeo every summer since 1937, when Harry and Merle Graber and Harry Kautzer first organized the event. This commemorative buckle was presented to the Pretty Prairie Booster Club during the 50th anniversary in 1987.
