Physical Description: White china bowl with hand-painted glazing. Part of a large set. Blue yellow striping, green and orange foliate designs, and a picture of a Breton man or woman on each piece. “Mistral Blue ” pattern. Numerous variations on the bottom indicating the maker was Henriot Quimper, France.

History of Object: According to the accession file, Virginia Bostick McArthur (1888-1977) acquired this bowl. As a child, she lived near Salt Creek, in Reno County. She later married Vernon McArthur and moved to Hutchinson, Kansas.

Date: Between 1917 and 1942

Dimensions (in cm): 7.00 (H) 20.30 (W) 20.30 (D) H: 2 3/4"; Diam: 8". Conical, octagonal.

Marks/Inscriptions: [on underside in blue handwriting] HB / QUIMPER / FRANCE ||
