Physical Description: Pieced cotton quilt in Tea Leaf or Single Lily design. Pieced blocks are made up of printed cotton diamonds pieced together in a floral design with an appliquéd stem and leaves, all on a white ground. Alternate set, with pieced blocks alternating with whole blocks of green calico. Double border of pink calico and dark green prints. Hand-pieced. Hand-quilted overall in a variety of designs, including outline quilting, scallops, and overlapping circles. Batting is probably cotton. Binding of dark green print. White cotton backing.

History of Object: Eliza Ann Crowel (donor's mother) made this quilt when she was nine year old. Eliza was born in Ozawkie, KS, in 1863. According to 1880 census records, Eliza?s family later moved to Lyon County, KS. She married Frederick Denner on Sept. 10, 1880. The donor claimed this quilt was never laundered.
