Physical Description: a) Rectangular aluminum sign with riveted chain hanger. Rounded corners. Six windows on lower part for sign inserts. Top 1/3 of sign is red and blue label/advertisement. Back has metal bars riveted on to hold plastic and inserts. Blue borders overall. b) Flat, narrow strip of white cardboard for inserting into sign windows. Blue print on front and back. c) Flat, narrow strip of white cardboard for inserting into sign windows. White letters blocked out with background painted navy blue on front. Blue letters printed on white background on back. d-f) Flat, narrow strip of white cardboard for inserting into sign windows. White letters blocked out with background painted red on front. Red letters printed on white background on back. On (d) and (e) strip was cut slightly off the mark, leaving narrow white band across top. g-j) Flat, narrow strip of white cardboard for inserting into sign windows. History of Object: From Scott Bros. Ice Cream Co., thought to be the oldest ice cream store in Kansas. (Topeka Capital 6-28-1977). Founded in 1879 by Harry C. Scott, grandfather of the donor.
