Physical Description: Rectangular pine frame with mortise and tenon joints. One nail in each corner. Twelve horizontal parallel steel narrow rods secured into holes along inside edges of frame sides. Twelve round pine beads strung on wire; four painted yellow, four painted red, and four painted blue. Short turned pine handle with six parallel grooves near bottom edge of handle.

History of Object: According to label "This counting board was used by Mr. Stanley when he first started teaching school." Found at Kaw Mission with no accession number, February 1980. Presumed to have been donated to site; previously entered into old site records under old number.

Date: Between 1856 and 1900
