Physical Description: Spun brass kettle. Dull finish. Brass fixtures for ferrous metal (steel?) hemispherical handle. Tapered sides and slightly rounded bottom. Once had an 1812 insignia on kettle now missing; location indicated by rough spot on kettle.

History of Object: Presumed donated to KSHS by the Daughters of 1812. According to label, "Brass kettle with '1812' insignia. Present by Mrs. C.R. Miller, General Henry Leavenworth Chapter." PAT'D APRIL 27, 1869 #89,491 - Marcy, J.J. assignor to self and E. Miller & Co., West Meriden, CT. Machine for spinning metal. PAT'D MARCH 15, 1870 #100,912 - Marcy, J.J. assignor to self and E.
