This 19th-century school is located in the original town site of Wilmington. It is the oldest remaining structure. Local resident Andrew Pringle, Sr., built the one-room stone schoolhouse in 1870 from limestone that was quarried within a few miles from the structure. The property is nominated for its associations with public education and for its potential to yield additional information through archeological investigation.
