Taste of Kansas 2018On our last Taste of Kansas, October 5-6, 2018, we traveled to South Central Kansas and explored oil, cattle barons, and flying high! Be watching for future trips!

Friday, October 5:

  • Kansas Oil Museum in El Dorado delving into the story of oil and gas
  • Greenwood Hotel in Eureka, a historic hotel associated with the oil and cattle industry, and enjoy a special snack
  • Beaumont Hotel, lunch at the historic fly-in restaurant
  • Augusta TheaterAugusta Theater, historic movie palace, featuring MovieTone News and popcorn
  • Kansas Aviation Museum in Wichita, exploring the connections between oil, gas, cattle, and aviation
  • Connie's Mexico Café in Wichita, dinner at this celebrity favorite

Saturday, October 6:

  • Keriel Dairy Barn in Whitewater, special tour of this third generation farm
  • Whitewater Falls FarmKarg Art Glass and Artisan Lane Shops in Kechi, featuring glass art and sculpture, quilters, weavers, and woodworkers
  • Stearman Field Bar and Grill in Benton, lunch at the popular airstrip
  • Whitewater Falls Stock Farm in Towanda, once a historic workhorse operation
