Jon Boursaw

Jon Boursaw was born in Kansas. He is a descendant of the Bourassa and Ogee families and a member of the Potawatomi Nation.

Boursaw served 24 years in the U.S. Air Force before retiring as a colonel. He worked for corporations for 13 years, and six years as the executive director of the Prairie Band Potawatomi in Kansas. His served as director of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation Cultural Heritage Center for more than two years.

Well versed in tribal history, Boursaw gives presentations each year to participants of the Potawatomi Leadership Program for students on the path of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation from pre-European times to its status today. He currently lives in Topeka.

Boursaw was elected to the Kansas Historical Foundation Board of Directors in 2016.
