Rohde Endowment

Robert Quinn Rohde combined a passion for the arts and a fascination with objects from the past. He provided a trust after his death to support programming and promotion at the state historic sites.

Born in 1918, Rohde grew up in Neodesha and received a bachelor of arts degree in English from the University of Kansas. Rohde was a member of the Kansas Historical Society and served on the boards of a number of cultural organizations. As an antique dealer, he gained an appreciation for Kansas and its history.

The Rohde Endowment advances Kansas history education, with one portion dedicated to developing online videos for use in the classroom that teach Kansas history and government. The $100,000 fund also supports programs across the state.
