West Fest: Celebrating Kansas Cowboys

West FestCalling all cowboys at heart! Our family event celebrating the cowboy will be held 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, September 15, 2018. It features activities on the grounds and in the Museum. Kansas Historical Society members admitted free!

Inside, admission fees apply:

  • Climb inside the full-sized covered wagon. Great photo op!
  • Gallop through the gallery on stick ponies
  • Includes one stagecoach ride 

Museum lobby:

  • Lolly the Clown balloon making
  • Stick pony and unicorn making station, $5

State Archives gallery:

Outside, free activities include:

  • 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Free hot dogs and chips while supplies last
  • 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Kaw Valley Cornet Band
  • Pet miniature horses and a mustang
  • Campfire cooking demonstrations
  • Join in campfire sing-a-long
  • Practice roping
  • Pan for gold
  • Play fun historic games
